CNN chose -- unwisely

If CNN really wanted to show that it valued transparency in its news approach, it should have urged the appropriate officials/bureaucrats to release the tape of Eason Jordan's remarks concerning the targeting of journalists by the American military. It should have presented an aired review of these rumors and presented the facts that could be produced to support these allegations. They could have produced a great news story even if it ended up outing one of their own. CNN would have gained respect and viewership for their courage and commitment to the truth. Instead they chose the most opaque and cowardly route. Is it any wonder there audience in the US has plummeted? Why do these behemoth organizations always choose wrongly?
